The Background check stage is the fifth stage of the recruitment process and it's optional.
At this stage, as a company, you have the option to assess the candidate(s) you are considering for hire by reviewing their background. In many countries, this is commonly known as a criminal record check, which is a document that the candidate must obtain from their local authorities. If you require any additional documentation to be provided by the candidate, you may then ask for nationally recognized forms of identification. Keep in mind that the process will differ depending on the country. If you are happy with everything the candidate has provided up to this point, you can move them straight to the final stage - offer and placement.
💡It is essential to understand that this stage is not compulsory, but rather optional. The decision to request any additional information is entirely up to you and your discretion.
